SUPER DUTY COMMUTER 2.5”/3.5”

We’ve altered the 2005-24 Super Duty Systems based on customer feedback. When the system was equipped with Fox shocks, the internal valving was optimized for the stock leaf springs + Carli Progressive Add-a-Packs. It was frequently requested that we offer a tuning profile compatible with the Carli Full Progressive Leaf Spring Upgrade.

We viewed the Commuter as a more “entry-level” system for which customers wouldn’t likely opt for the more expensive options, but the request was consistent enough that we converted the tuning to be optimized with the full progressive leaf springs when we switched to the Carli-SPEC 2.0” IFP shocks from the Fox shocks. We obliged as we already offer the leveling system (with the Carli Signature Series shocks) that’s tuned to the stock springs/add-a-packs; having the Commuter, also a 2.0 IFP, tuned the same would make the systems pretty redundant. Yes, the Carli-SPEC is a nicer shock with a more refined tune but the overlap was clear.

With this alteration came the requests for a stock spring/add-a-pack compatible tuning now that we’ve optimized the Commuter to the Full Progressive Springs. It’s taken years for the Commuter to find it’s “place” in our lineup but we finally have it, it seems.

The Commuter Shocks will now be offered with two options:

  1. AS-FLVLSPKG-CS20IFP-B: Tuning specific for those running Stock Springs or Add-a-Packs. These shocks have substantially more rebound tuning than their counterparts; preventing the rear from jumping out once compressed. As the stock spring is very restrictive in ride quality, we did what we could to maximize ride quality despite the bottleneck. This tuning is compatible with the 2 Main Leaf F250 Spring Pack Pictured Below, 3-Main Leaf F350 Spring Pack (Standard F350, All Tremors and High Capacity Tow), and Carli Progressive Add-a-Pack.

  1. AS-FLVLSPKG-CS20IFP-A: Tuning Specific for those running Carli Full Progressive Leaf Springs. The tuning in these shocks will allow for FAR more ride quality than the “B” shocks as they’re tuned to match the much softer riding full progressive leaf spring pack.

We’ve broken up the 2.5” & 3.5” Commuter Base System Configurations to reflect this change. These Systems will now have a “PAP” or “FSP” suffix as shown below:

For those that want to keep the factory springs or run the Carli Add-a-Packs, the PAP kit including the “B” tuning will be your best bet to optimize ride quality (understanding the ride quality limitations of the factory spring) without affecting payload. If you’re buying the kit in stages and plan to purchase the full progressive leaf springs in the future, you’re best to order the “A” tuning to ensure compatibility with your end build.

For those that want optimal ride quality, the FSP kit including the “A” tuning will allow you to run the full progressive leaf springs to maximize the performance of the System!

The 4.5”/5.5” systems will not be affected by this change.
